A new generation steps into the spotlight as Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Future of Jazz Orchestra returns to Dizzy’s with some of New York’s most exciting early-career jazz artists. Led by saxophonist Josh Lee, this special set celebrates the timeless brilliance of Duke Ellington throughthe music of his wartime Treasury Department broadcasts. Timed alongside the annual Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival, taking place April 30–May 2, this is a thrilling chance to experience the spirit of the 1940s and an often overlooked piece of jazz history.
