Salsa Meets Jazz, curated by Carlos Henriquez and his Latin Jazz Initiative, channels the era when salsa bands and jazz innovators shared the stage and pushed each other further. This edition celebrates Eddie Palmieri and Willie Colón, whose bold writing and fearless improvisation expanded the NYC salsa sound through jazz language and Afro-Caribbean roots. Expect tight ensembles, open solos, and rhythms that pull you in from the first downbeat.
