Ertegun Jazz Hall of Fame: Celebrating Horace Silver

Description

Drummer Roger Humphries, a Pittsburgh jazz institution, leads a heartfelt and high-energy tribute to Horace Silver, one of the most influential composers and bandleaders in modern jazz. As the rhythmic force behind Silver’s classic recordings including Song for My Father and The Cape Verdean Blues, Humphries brings authenticity and soul to this celebration. Joined by his band, he revisits Silver’s hard-bop masterpieces with the same infectious swing and spirit that defined the originals, promising an evening full of joyful rhythm and bluesy sophistication.
