Dave Brubeck, one of jazz’s most recognizable figures, enters the Jazz at Lincoln Center Hall of Fame as a groundbreaking composer, pianist, and global ambassador for the genre. From timeless standards like "Take Five" and "Blue Rondo a la Turk" to pieces such as "In Your Own Sweet Way," Brubeck’s innovations with odd time signatures and blending jazz with orchestral music redefined the art form. Beyond his music, he was a fierce advocate for human rights and social justice. His son, Chris Brubeck, a respected composer and musician, will induct his father, with music by Jon De Lucia’s Brubeck Octet Project celebrating Brubeck’s enduring influence.
