Description
In celebration of bebop pioneer Bud Powell’s centennial on September 27, Jazz at Lincoln Center presents a unique three-night event: In Walked Savion Glover and ELEW. Legendary tap dancer Savion Glover, known for his groundbreaking work since “The Tap Dance Kid,” will showcase his improvisational brilliance. As Glover puts it, “I came up in live performance and it was improvisation. There are no double takes.” He will be joined by pianist Eric Lewis (ELEW), a former JLCO member, who describes their musical synergy as “crazy amazing.” This run promises to be a spectacular fusion of tap and piano you won’t want to miss.
