Under the leadership of acclaimed saxophonist and composer Wayne Escoffery, The Yale Jazz Ensemble presents an evening-length performance featuring special guest and creative force, drummer Nasheet Waits. In celebration of Max Roach’s centennial, the young artists mine material across the iconic drummer and activist’s We Insist! Freedom Now Suite to create a dynamic and hard-swinging set for the next generation of listeners.
