A New Yorker by way of China with profound connections to the Caribbean, the pianist and composer celebrates mingling styles and traditions in live sets JAZZIZ describes as “often infectious.” Don’t miss this luminescent event paying homage to the Chinese Lantern Festival, a vital and evolving tradition that celebrates 2,000 years of imagination and culture. This evening’s performance is part of a new series curated by Jazz at Lincoln’s Center’s Artistic Advisory Council, which seeks to showcase diverse sounds and voices of the global jazz community. Council member Kay Zou curated this performance to honor Asian artists and their unique contributions to the American jazz scene.
