Description
Following last season’s ebullient guest appearance for The Shanghai Suite with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, clarinetist, saxophonist, and composer Ye Huang returns to Dizzy’s Club to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year with his octet. Presenting Jazzical, Huang and his fellow artists share inventive arrangements of traditional Chinese pieces for the first set; standard tunes, and original repertoire for the second. Throughout the evening, they’ll explore works based on classic Chinese mythological stories the Legend of the White Snake, Butterfly Lovers, and Chang’e Flying to the Moon.
