Bassist and composer Carlos Henriquez continually evolves and refines his expression as a creative force on the New York scene. Providing foundational energy and high-level musicianship as a longtime member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Henriquez released his 2021 album The South Bronx Story to critical acclaim and Grammy recognition. His new release A Nuyorican Tale delivers an advanced style drawn from distinctive African drum tunings and jazz lyricism, among other compelling influences. His award-winning nonet features some of the music’s freshest voices.
