Since the 1961 release of Cal Tjader Plays, Mary Stallings Sings (Fantasy Records), she’s been finding new, intimate, and swinging ways of interpreting enduring melodies. For this four-night event, she joins The Emmet Cohen Trio, one of the most exhilarating ensembles on the New York scene, whose ethos affirms: “All music is modern music.”
